i'm late to the party on this but i've recently played and finished The Last of Us. That was an emotional rollercoaster i wasn't prepared for.

I give the small baronies to minor characters and look for good stewards or family members to grant the capitals to (Unless they have horrible stats). The best stewards get a Duchy as well but no more than one county so they can't get too strong as they can't call up the full levy of their smaller Baron vassals.

There is an advantage to handing quite a few titles to one character though as you then only have to keep that one vassal onside. It's a chore to keep lots of individual vassals sweet. Especially at Empire level when you maybe need to start handing out Kingdoms.

Yeah I hit another steep learning curve with this portion of the game after unifying Eire and winning Alba.

I had too many titles and gave some to my heir. The heir inherited but had no kids because when I made him a count he decided to marry a 40 year old. So I started to give some of the titles away within my family and I've created some problems for myself there.

You're making me want to play it, sounds really good, I need some hours alone to try and figure it out I think.

It's a regular medieval soap opera simulator. Betrothing my 11 year old daughter to a 67 year old just so I can hopefully engineer a valid claim on Aquitane with their offspring some years down the line didn't feel great....but needs must.

It takes time. I think I've only just managed to get this far and it is about the 3rd or 4th attempt at the game.

As someone said previously, watch the Let's Play videos first. This game has layers of depth though so you're going to spend a lot of time learning from your mistakes. I still am and I'm about 15 hours into a Dynasty right now.

CK2 is boss. Have about 500 hours on it.
There is also some actual boss mods that will liven up play too.

Looking forward to trying the DLC and the Game of Thrones mods once I have my head around it all. I'm glad that I kept going back and trying again because I think I'm already hooked. Can easily see me sticking that amount of time into it.

Anyone interested in some MP if they have time over the BH W/E? Good chance for some of the more experienced players to help the guys just starting out?
