Is Skyrim actually any good? Early reviews suggested awesome, but seen a lot slating it now they've had chance to have a proper playthrough.

It's sensational. No better word to describe it than that.

Spectacular, as Tubey said. I think a lot of the people who are 'slating' it, are the instant action COD sensory overload kids. People who can actually appreciate a game with depth are in awe with games like Skyrim.

Well, I'm only on the 3rd mission as it's hard and I'm not very good at shooty type games. But it's got a good atmosphere, and really gets your heart pumping at good moments.

I'd say yes go for it. As you say ww2 games are hard to find.

On the talk about CoD and the whiny little kids, you should play Battlefield if you like Skyrim.

Fair enough, its on the LoveFilm list. Am I expecting a sort of much bigger, grown-up (so to speak) version of Zelda: Twilight Princess, which had depth and I found superb?

Take something to peel me away from Mass Effect at the moment, that became a distraction when Everton were....well....their usual before February.

No. It is nothing like Zelda. It is like The Elder Scrolls, evolved (which, funnily enough, it is!). Just expect to have a game that rewards you for playing it, however you choose to.

My advice, if you like RPG's, give it a whirl. If not, swerve it.

skyrim is bloody ace i started again when i was 200+hours into my first game, i didn't finish it because i didn't want to spoil the end and so started again with a completely different character n class and changed allegiance its great i love it.
