Computer games.

I bought Resident Evil 5 for £12 the other day, never played any of the older games. Absolute bargain.

I've been playing co op mode with a mate and really enjoying it.

Anyone seen the Pienaar image from FIFA 13?

Is that Baines behind him?

Yeah, number 3 on his shorts.

Pienaar looks angry as [Poor language removed].

One thing I don't understand is the audio side of the game. This is a fairly big release but it's not a AAA, mega-hyped blockbuster.

And yet there's a massive (and occasionally excellent) licensed soundtrack and a voice cast including Tom Wilkinson, Emma Stone and Lucy Liu, amongst a lot of other quality actors. They must have spunked half the budget on making it all sound nice.

Indeed - hardly any hype around this game.

I've had a gander at the soundtrack online. It's pretty awesome. The 80's radio station is right up my street.

Seen loads of ads for this lately tbf. Seems like theyre pushing it pretty hard now...

Sony Liverpool, formerly known as Psygnosis has shut up shop. They had good games back in the day, Lemmings and all that.

And the impossibly hard Shadow of the Beast series. Talk about a game with atmosphere.....

Also wipeout. That was a fun arcade racer!!

Psygnosis were quality back in the Amiga days :)

I liked the look of that game, I have just finished LA Noire, and I liked the "True Crime : New York", that Sleeping Dogs was originally based on, but does anyone know where you can get the game cheap? PS3?

What was that like? Have always fancied it.

I will say though that I don't like the direction that PC games are going where you have to have internet access to play the game even if you don't plan on playing multiplayer.

Same, it's pretty anoying, especially when you get stuck somewhere where you can't access t'internet.

For my sins I've recently started playing LoL with my housemate, like a proper bad geek :o

A gem from 2000

Good stuff.

That was a wonderful game, followed up with a terrible 'cash-in-on-the-name' sequel. And then finally a worthy follow up with Deus Ex 3.

A good shout for some older games....System Shock and System Shock 2 (WHAT A GAME!!!!)..... precursors to Bioshock and its bout of sequels.

I am dragging myself through FF7 now, I am amazed at how badly I feel toward a game that is held in such reverence. Smashing through older games you missed is kinda like the music thread in that you get thrown golden oldies you missed.

Deus Ex reminds me greatly of MGS on the PSX. And is/was a factor on 'Hitman'. 'GT4' next or maybe 'red dead'. I never did 'silent hill' or 'resident evil'. I wonder if I missed out but even if I did they never held enough draw for me to be arsed enough to go investigate. Taste I suppose, or lack thereof.
