Computer games.

How far have you got? It can be a bit of a grind at times.
I've done a fair bit of wandering around the map and the last time I played I'd got a little way into the area beyond the first boss (Margit? Stormhill Castle?). I'm objective enough to be able to say that it's not that the game's bad, it's just not for me. In my case, it means putting in several hours for the most marginal of gains, and if I'm lucky enough to grab an hour of gaming in the evening, I generally like to feel as if I've made a bit of progress if playing a story-driven game.

I agree, it's definitely the type of game where you tend to do better if you can play a few hours at a time as you then make progress. I quite like it but I do think it will be hard to finish, I've only done 2 of the main bosses on it so far.

Yep - i'm flogging my copy this week

I've tried the From Software experiment with this and Bloodborne previously - Just not the developer for me I'm afraid

Played through to the final ER boss last night - epic. Late game content really strong imho.
Last bosses are ridiculous but you also get to use some ridiculous tools yourself - there's one particular spirit summon that will carry every boss fight and I reckon late game magic would steamroll.

Final boss is hard, like - not done it yet and looks like it will take a few goes.

For those saying its a grind - do you mean literally as you should never be grinding or farming mobs in this game. If you're stuck just go somewhere else and play a new area to advance the story / map. But yeah if you just mean it feels onerous to play then fair enough - DS not everyone's style that is for sure.

Knocked over the last boss in Elden Ring last night - bit of a project tbh, but fun. A lot of progression and a great soundtrack.

62 hrs all in for someone who has played a ton of Dark Souls. Reckon it would take really quite a lot to complete the game if it's your first one - it's a monster.

Is a DLC automatic for a game of this stature? Be awesome to see. DLC usually has bosses that are even harder which doesn't seem feasible tbh.

Made a brief start on AC Valhalla's Dawn of Ragnarok expansion last night. I encountered a glitch at the very start, so in case this helps anyone: just a couple of minutes in (cutscenes aside), there's a boss battle, and this guy was completely thrashing me while I barely took a shaving from his health bar (takes me back to my time with Sekiro...). Anyway, after a few more thrashings, I paused and checked the menu to find that all the various difficulty settings had been maxed out, even though I'd chosen the default/recommended settings. As I was in combat, it wouldn't let me change them, so I restarted the game and again made sure the settings were OK (they weren't) before entering the fight, which was now very straightforward. So if you're finding the gameplay to be much tougher (or easier) than you'd expect, it may be worth checking that the gameplay settings do line up with what you've originally chosen.

Is it quiet? One of the issues I have is I can’t wear headphones and in the summer the PC can get very hot and noisy.
In general they can be a bit quieter, but they do reach a saturation point and the performance drops (though that is quite high).

Pretty much all AIO's offer almost identical performance (within the rad sizes) as they are all using the same bits from ASU Tek (I think that's the company).

If you want the best performance, the Noctua air coolers tend to offer amazing performance and low noise. They are pretty much the industry leaders in fan and heatsink design.

It's been nearly 20 years since March 14th 2002, the day the original Xbox was launched in europe. I bought mine on launch day as well.

It's my favourite games console of all time, along with the Nintendo Gamecube. I did give the PC master race thing a go. But really i prefer being a console peasant.lol

Now if only they would release Euro/American Truck Simulator on consoles.:)

I was strictly playstation until my brother in law brought over his xbox and Halo one night. Went out the very next day and bought an Xbox, with halo and never looked back console wise for years. Some of my best days gaming have come playing halo, halo 2 and 3 on the xbox. Really great memories.

Bought a PC in 2017 and now i regret not doing THAT sooner also.

I cannot see SCS ever releasing ETS 2 and ATS for consoles. They barely have the time creating content for PC, let alone thinking about porting the game to console. If you've already said you gave PC gaming a go, so why can't you play these games on the PC ? The vanilla base game for ETS2 and ATS is .... ok, but mods is what makes these games superb. The content created by the promods team, adding roads and countries to work alongside what SCS develop is arguably better. Just a brilliant chill type of game where you can lose yourself for a few hours, listening to music and driving around with a few friends.

When you add in extra's like a wheel, pedals, button box designed for this game, etc etc... its so much fun.

Promods did an Ireland map, there was one problem though there was no Cork in it.lol Oh well maybe SCS might do Ireland eventually, and hopefully they might have Cork on the map.

Promods did a superb job with Iceland however. I love driving around there. I only drive Scanias or Volvos in it though. I probably should give some other brands a try at this stage. Although Renaults and Ivecos are total and utter junk.

Same. Always drove a scania. Once you stick in some sound mods plug ins, and a few other things, it really gives the immersion a level up.

The whole of the UK needs a complete re-work by SCS tbf. The vanilla base map for the UK is horrific compared to the newer standard they release now. They are updating their old work currently (germany, Austria etc ) though so maybe Ireland is something they could look at. Russia DLC is a couple of months away and after that i can see them concentrating on Croatia, Greece area of Europe.

Doing the whole of Ireland would be a nice DLC though.
