So I ended up buying 'Ghost Recon: Breakpoint' as I've heard the latest patch has overhauled things and it's also on offer at the moment for around £16
I'm conflicted to be honest. I LOVED Wildlands, and in some ways, with the new options removing the tiered loot and a lot of the ridiculous microtransaction nonsense, it feels like more of the same.
The controls are horribly clunky though, and the camera parks itself far too close to the player character so he takes up half the screen. Even bumping up the FOV options, it still didn't look right. Disappointing considering how good the Division 2 is in these areas, by the same dev no less.
The AI is horribly inconsistent and the new drone enemies, while adding more danger to the various scenarios, end up being incredibly annoying after a while.
On the plus point, the open world is fun and varied enough to enjoy exploring (Even though I prefer Wildlands' Bolivia), the light survival mechanics add an interesting element to the game play and ther new options scheme added with 'Immersion Mode' lets you taylor all these settings for yourself (Including removing the lite survival stuff)
Still a ton of character and weapon customisation options, I'm an absolute tart for outfitting my character like a kid with an action man

And it looks great as well!
Still disappointing compared to the previous entry - but I'll probably stick with it as it's one of those games that are great for jumping in and out of to kill some time.
