Comparison of first 3 results during Prem-era

We honestly don't know what's gonna happen when we play west Brom. On current evidence you would think conceding a couple is not unlikely. But a draw is pretty useless to us as we have pool and united away shortly. I do fear a raping from pool actually I could see us with only 4 points from the next 4 games which would leave us with 6 from 6 which would be near the relegation spots or in them.

I miss Kevin Ratcliffe...

You all realize we are going to absolutely destroy West Brom, right?

It could be 6-0.

None of this "typical Everton" bullshit. Only pure, unadulterated filth.

Really? Have you watched any Everton away game over the last few years? We will concede early from a counterattack giving someone their first prem goal. We will then proceed to boss the game without creating much. If we play well we'll score 2 goals before sitting back and allowing Jags and Distin to cock up and concede a header from a set piece somewhere past the 86 minute mark. If we dont play well we scrape back for a 1-1 via a set piece of our own. That is the Everyon away story for most of the last few seasons.

For whatever reason, Newcastle away aside, we dont have the ability to smash poor sides away from home like the rest of the top 7 can.

96/97 - 01/02, highest position 13th!!! I honestly 'forgot' that our league finishes were that poor during that era - must have subconciously blanked them out

been watching for years and years and still fume big style when we don't win, sometimes even when we do if we were gash and won.
It's part of the job description to rant and fume.
There are not many of us who can sit back and calmly watch when it all turns to custard...

Best not say too much or bicycleheader will neg me X10 if he doesn't like what I say

Unfortunately the first 3 games which while not a disaster given our opponents has meant we absolutely need 6 points from the next two.

If we get that we'll be comfortably top half going into the RS and Utd games.

Hopefully Utd will still be finding their way before we play them. The RS have looked very good but we just need to load the midfield and keep it tight. If it turns into another shootout we'll be on the end of another humping.

After those games we can start our long climb up the table and hopefully Barkley will be back.

So basically, the first 3 games are absolutely no indication of how the rest of the season will pan out.

Which is kinda obvious because it's only 3 games.

We've won only 6 times on the opening day in 20 odd years?? Poor that.

Yep. The win-ratio generally of our first 3 games is less than our average win-ratio over a season.

If we take the season since we established ourselves as best-of-the-rest (06/07) we've won 9 out of the 27 games which constitute the first 3 of each of the last 9 seasons.

Exactly a third then, or 33%.

I haven't worked it out, but I think our win-ratio over the last full 8 seasons is comfortably more than 40%.

Definitely something we could improve on.
