Commercial performance - post TFG

Interesting to see the introduction of The Dock Lines and the clothing collaboration with ASSC.
Thought it would be an interesting thread to start to discuss if this is indeed progress or as some of our highly regarded and respected contributors believe, something of a shameless cash grab by our American / ambulance chasing overlords.

Bit early to know if such measures increase our transfer kitty, but not long to wait for the accounts in March.

I’m all for it, just hope the tickets aren’t the next goods and services to have their pips squeezed out of them.

Well first non EPL event down, any whispers or better yet, substantiated value of what today’s egg chasing was worth as a commercial opportunity for the club?

God I wish money, yanks, Arabs, sky, advertising etc were not involved in our once sport. I lament the replacing of picket fencing with ugly pitch side adverts, let alone the visual vomit inducing video ones.

Best we can all do is just never buy what's advertised. Show them it doesn't work.

Then maybe it will he down to who comes to watch attractive, interesting football through the turnstiles again, rather than who has the most oil money from non-sporting, irrelevant means.

It's the American way. If they can sell tickets/doughnuts/memberships or anything else at an exorbitant price, they will.
I would try not to expect anything else tbh

Good luck with that- you'd be hard pressed to even find that at NL level.

My local non league team has no advertising hoardings. Just lethal scaffold fencing around 2 sides of the pitch, 2 hedges and a breeze block dug out no longer big enough for the subs they're allowed. Its also an uneven, sloping pitch. They seem to love it.

All it costs me to watch them getting thrashed each week is my time!

It all depends on the deal with Aramark. If its as it was at Goodison, then they'll get the lions share of on site revenue. We'll probably rent the venue out for an agreed price and its on the event organisers to recoup their costs through ticket sales. They likely set the ticket prices to account for this. No idea if Seat Unique had seats for sale, but again, they'll buy the seat for an agreed price and sell for a profit, so we wont be making £120 a seat, we'll only be making a portion of that.

Anything that ChatGPT tells you without actual information is likely to be far from the truth. Out of interest, what was your prompt for Chat GPT? What did you ask it?

‘How much would Everton fc likely earn from the England Australia rugby game at hill Dickinson stadium?’
Tbf I’m far from thinking the output is anything more than a guess I could come up with (if I could be bothered to think about it)

The three columns of figures were Ticket share, hospitality & on site revenue from F&B.
