Comedians - Rate & Hate

Historically as a story teller Dave Allen was genius, his comedy sketches not quite so good though!
Favourite all time comedian - Billy Connolly by some distance, seen him twice live and thought I would die laughing both times! Gervais can be great at times.
Hate, might be a bit strong, but Bishop, McIntryre, Carr, Millican, Whitehall, and one or two others can all get in the proverbial bin!

My missus made me go and see whitehall with her a year or 2 back, i got a few laughs but it was very bland and vanilla compared to real proper comedians.

Someone in work was telling me Frankie Boyle has done a U-turn with his comedy recently, isn't he meant to be [Poor language removed] now? I used to find him hilarious on MTW.

I've never found Scottish comedians that funny. I think it's the accent, which is too aggressive.

I read a couple of Boyle's books and was seriously crying with laughter at them. Then leant them to someone who managed to lose them when moving house so he claims. Fuming.

Probably because only about 3 things left they can tell jokes about.

Another hated one of mine is Eddie Izzard, majorly pi**ed off he chose Sue as his alto ego , even more annoyed that he chose to have the same bra size as me too

He / She is Palace. Saw her doing her lippy while queuing for a programme before the playoff SF v Wolves back in the day. Does a lot for Palace related charities. A good person.

Thought the same about Sean Lock as well. On shows he was one of the funniest people out there, but stand up I wasn't so keen.

Yeah, I agree. Couldn't get through any of his standup really, but he was responsible for some of the most hilarious TV segments I've ever seen and I still watch to this day. Just one of those comedians who is better when he's off the cuff and reacting instead of doing a scripted set
