Collision in the North Sea

Ships don't have systems that can be hacked remotely.

The Dali, which hit the bridge in Baltimore, suffered a switchboard failure. A detailed explanation can be found on the "What's Going On With Shipping" Youtube channel and also on the gCaptain website. These both are more reliable than the MSM outlets which generally don't have a clue about shipping.
That’s what they want you to believe.

Unless the Portuguese ship was hacked and steered into the US fleet reserve tanker full of jet fuel.
Did we ever get an explanation why that US ship sailed straight into that bridge the other year?
Jet fuel ain't good, flash point of about 38 degrees, for perspective diesel is normally 65.

There will have been a full investigation into the bridge collision with all recommendations etc released within the maritime industry, probably just no longer a headline once it was completed

@Bedfordblue

Thought you were taking the mick given his username, but turns out;

Wow, dramatic pictures. Seems incredible that there aren't more casualties. Bravo to the rescue crews.

These kinds of mass disasters are nearly always a mezze of "gotchas", including man/machine/environment/organisation.

Lets see what the investigation reveals.

Sequence of events is the common phrase when breaking these things down, as you say it's not usually down to a singular decision, more a poor safety culture with a bit of bad luck thrown in.

I'll take you all behind the scenes of the investigation...

I didn't see it there.

It's a 30,000 ton ship Tyrone. Its not as if it's a packet of bloody peanuts, is it?

@Bedfordblue

Wrong ship. I was Master on a pair of sister ships, Sarnia Cherie and Sarnia Liberty. They visit the Mersey quite often, up the Ship Canal to load at Stanlow.
