Wow, farrking amazing performance. His defending was nothing other than class. What a performance lad.

I ****ing love Seamus Coleman. I hope I don't see anyone else play right back for us for the next ten years.

He even defended brilliantly today, that diving header to take the ball off Tevez was genius.

The cut inside the two City defenders first half was superb. In general, he's very good at getting the defender's weight moving one direction then quickly going the opposite way.

His forward play is as good as many decent wingers in this league. If not better.

His defending is coming on leaps and bounds too.

Well done Seamus.

He has come from basically non league and is still young so he will make mistakes but every mistake he makes he will learn from. His defending is improving already, the way he tracked back to intercept when city had 2 men on the left and the header to stop tevez were both pieces of top class defending. He is going to be awesome in the next 2-3 years.

Haha i then searched for that as well.

He did make a few mistakes earlier in the season but that was balaanced out by his contributions going forward.

But its like i always try to explain when supporting giving young inexperienced players a go in the team : if you give them a run in the team with faith in them even when they make inevitable mistakes there's hell of a lot more chance of them developing into decent Prem players than there is if you leave them in the reserves/on the bench.

Obviously if they're clearly not good enough you don't, but when they have potential you need to bring it out of them. Just like we have with Coleman.

There's probably people in that thread Davek linked saying Colemans ok to play against the likes of Norwich or Reading but not Man City. He proved that wrong today didn't he.

Even when he was struggling back then he was still the best option to play, simply because he gave the side balance. I think that's what the defence of him was based on.

Yeah he was, and he has improved hugely since then.

Wouldn't have done so if Hibbert and Neville weren't unavalible and we could have stuck him in the reserves after giving the ball away against Fulham.

One of the positive things to come out of this season is Seamus getting a run at RB, and more importantly making that number 2 shirt his! Absolutely amazing today! Attacking SUPERB. Defending SUPERB.

Kolarov cost £18,000,000. Seamus cost £60,000. LOL.

He was a class act today, he is full of confidence and full of energy all game, he was fantastic going forward but i was very impressed with his defensive work today too. Quality.
