Emley

If I remember rightly they have a ground that was fairly high up in the Yorkshire Dales, there is a cricket pitch next to it and there was no stand so it was completely open.

I have memory of a January game there with Barrow, ended 0-0 and was a very poor game. I also have a memory that they played West Ham in the cup the year before and got a bit of money so built a decent clubhouse, so at least warmed up a little bit before getting back on the coach.

The old Ayresome Park in Middlesbrough.

Bleak, unfriendly natives, and situated by the pongs of an ICI factory.

I attended a winter night game, probably in the Gordon Lee era.

We lost as well.
Was that the cup game where we were 3-0 down and then he finally brought McKenzie on and we scored 2 but couldn't quite get the equaliser? If so, I was there!

Yep, rings a bell.

I just recall it was an horrendous experience all round.

Got back home to Walton around 3-00am, bones still chilled to this day.
