Too many mistakes yet again. Hibbo got sucked into midfield for their first goal. Seamus did well to fill in for him, but switched off to Cole's run. There was no marking whatsoever for Terry's goal. And we backed off for Ramires' goal, rather than going to the ball.

I don't think personnel is the problem. We need to get organised and cut out basic mistakes. Perhaps the way to keep them on their toes is to rotate? I find it hard to imagine that Heitinga would be any more conscientious than our current custodians though.

one answer jags has been sh.t poor this season and is a bit down that he didn't get his move to the gunners in the summer

I don't think he wanted a move. He was possibly hoping that Everton didn't force him into going. Our defence just doesn't seem to be a cohesive unit. It's Moyes's biggest strength and yet he's letting mistakes go week after week at the moment. Maybe the gaffer has lost his mojo? You couldn't blame him.

The more you give away possession the more presure you will be under and the more chances the other team will get. Its not just a defence problem its how we play. the long ball just gives possession away cheaply and you can't do that in the better leagues.

I think it does effect us psychologically. If the ball isn't sticking up front and we're not looking like scoring then the team knows that as soon as we go a goal down the match is all but over.
