Money was tight for my family back in the day. I remember my mum saying they’d take me but money was tight, my reply....don’t worry mum I’ll go the European Cup final next year. To say I was sick was an understatement.

To be fair, a few of us thought the same thing. Although I was in Rotterdam, it never crossed my mind that 30 years + later I'd still be waiting for another European final

I remember when we played Arsenal at Highbury. They were very good and I remember thinking today we will see just how good the blues are. Can we go to Arsenal and win.
We won 2-0 but also absolutely played them off the park. I remember thinking, WOW, Everton really are a cracker team.
