Clamping

UPDATE

Went back down to the office today at 0930, no one connected with the clamping form was there (surprise surprise). So I left my number for someone to contact me.

Surprise surprise I got a call from a gentleman who was from the clamping firm. Why haven't I received a reply to my appeal I asked. I don't know he said, there are a few who haven't got replies and I've emailed head office about it. What do I do now I asked, write to the appeals office wanting to know what the delay is he said. But that is where I am speaking to you at, why can't you give me an answer says I. Any letters that come here are forwarded on to head office and I can't give you out their details as everything is done by post. That's hardly very professional I said, CLICK the line went dead.

As I'm still off on the sick it will give me something to do, ie compose a 'nice' letter which will probably need edited about ten times before all the profanities are removed. Will keep you posted but don't hold your breath. (n)

It's not only the clampers. I got a parking ticket from Liverpool city council on cup final day, went to watch the match on the beamback as I didn't have a ticket, for parking in a restricted street during prescribed hours. this is meant to be on match days:Still in discussion if this applies but you never can win with these bureaut**ts.

UPDATE

Got a letter from my consultant, got my MP involved and hey presto I have got a full refund.

HOWEVER it turns out that I was clamped at a hospital in Northern Ireland , yet the clamping company are based in the Republic of Ireland, another country. Has anyone else heard of this, another country enforcing laws in your own country. A bit like the French having an input into the legal services of Britain.

tbh though jeff, if i saw that you had a RED FERRARI, i'd clamp you as well you flash tw@ :lol:

if you get clamped, ring them and tell them that you have called 2 people....
1 is a locksmith who will not only remove the clamp but change the barrel so that you can use it as a security device.
2 is your mate who is a bodybuilder/ bare knuckle fighter who is gonna rip it like a phone book.
tell them that if they can get there quicksmart then they may be able to save their clamp, they wont get any wedge but at least they won't be a clamp down. then get someone to take the valves out of their tyres whilst they are removing your clamp.

i have been asked if i can supply places with clamps but i just say no, jog on.

It wasn't the Ferrari that got clamped but the Merc, wasn't able to drive the Ferrari in plaster.

Yes mate, they were made in a village called Dunmurry, south of Belfast. Wouldn't mind one although the build quality compared to todays cars wouldn't be up to scratch. At the time I would have bought one if I was old enough, however I have been infected by the TR7 bug from the 70s and absolutely love the car, even though it was cack, reliability wise, when it came out. By the time they got the problems sorted out they had a bad name and it stuck.
