I love christmas. Not seen too many lights up yet.
I grew up Catholic and in my adult years became an evangelical Christian (as in not praying to the saints kind of Christian - just to illustrate the difference). But I have never, never, ever put up Christmas trimmings at home. No tree and tinsels. Never have. Never will.
When my kids were little, they used to get stacks and stacks of presents from relos. They were allowed to keep one and the rest given to charities. They're now young adults and teens and they have never associated Christmas with material things. They've never asked me for a Christmas present and likely never will.
To you young people out there, who will one day have kids, don't get them started. It is enough they know they are loved. And teach them to love others. It will hold them in good stead.![]()

Remind me not to shake hands should we ever be introduced!
