Neiler

Player Valuation: £100m
Christian Poulsen a player i have mentioned a few times whom id love to join us has been linked with us this afternoon, sort it Davey:

Premier League rivals Liverpool and Everton are expected to fight a Merseyside derby for Juventus midfielder Christian Poulsen.

The stopper, who has been linked with an exit from Turin, seems to have attracted interest from the two Liverpool-based sides.

Lee Anderson, Poulsen's English representative, has revealed both clubs have made enquiries for the Danish international.

"It's complicated trying to find a club for Poulsen in England," Anderson told Tuttosport.

"The most recent interest has been from Liverpool and Everton, clubs that would be able to afford the player.

"We have spoken, but it was preliminary contacts which have not developed."

According to Poulsen's agent, Joann Bonnesen, the midfielder would prefer to remain in Turin and fight for his place in the squad.

"Christian is fine in Turin. He has decided that he wants to stay and fight to prove his worth to the Bianconeri. He is hoping for another chance," added the agent.

This is another one that's going nowhere. With Liverpool involved as well, even if there was a chance, he would be going there. We all know how we get screwed over transfers.

Quality player, but possibly a little battle-weary at this stage. He is one of the few non-Premier League players I've seen who was able to compete with Roy Keane. That was a few years ago now though and I doubt he'd choose us over Liverpool.

Sorry Neiler for being on your back again :), but he would add nothing to the team that Neville not already does.

Being a Dane I have seen my fair share of him in the national team, and he is not a leader at all. A few years ago Mad Dog Tommy decided to retire from the national team and Poulsen was all in line to replace him as the dynamic leader in the middle, but in 3-4 years this has still not happend.

He will mark any player out of the game (think about what Totti did to him a few years back because Poulsen marked him so well).

The problem is when he gets the ball. He never actually seeks possesion of it and once he does he always just passed to the nearest teammember. I would think that he has zero assists in his career. His pace is a problem as well and I very much doubt that he could handle the pace of the English PL.

So Neville for me all the way - he is a leader, who also does a good marking job and makes the easy short passes.

We don't need another holding midfielder.

We already have Phil Neville, Jack Rodwell and Mikel Arteta. That's more than enough for me, we should be looking to strengthen in other areas.

WE try to and get guzumped by the likes of Spurs. Plus we can never get a transfer simply enough to complete it nice and easy.

Surely Liverpool need him less than us - isn't he much the same as Mascherano, Lucas & Plessis?...

He was supposed to go out on loan to someone but turned them down (pretty sure it was Fulham) so he may be an option similar to Castillo last season - but he's much better than Segundo was, so I'd like to see him brought in on loan, just in case of injuries and because he's got more Euro experience than most of our guys.

Just me, or does he really look like Warren Barton circa 1996?!

We were linked with him last summer werent we?

He's not all that, otherwise he'd be wearing blue by now. The players we need are ones that would improve the team, not the squad as were looking to push on.

Time ticks by a bit like...

Even chicomelt is near to despair, the walls are moving in, WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE.

Theres no denying that, were pedantic as [Poor language removed] doing our transfer business.

But Im hoping its due to us identifying the right players and avoiding the circus of the transfer window.

Like the cool, calculated move for Fellaini last year.

I agree mate, we tracked him like a panther, then just as he went to the water at 11.55, POW, we leaped out from behind the rock and stuck our fangs into him.
