Imgine we could clone the basterd child of Denis stracqualursi and Balotteli....one who would run through brick walls but without any skill....and the other with all the skill in the world but never arsed using it!

Might end up with the worst of both...

This is the issue you are judging the skill sets on what you believe is what we need, not what Koeman believes best suits his style and approach to football.

Of that list Milik is the only one who remotely resembles what Koeman likes in a striker and injury aside he's hardly lit up the serie A. As for the rest Correa, Vietto have failed to move an ageing Torres out of a striker role at Atleti and have to play support roles from out wide / off the bench or have been moved on. Fekir similarly isn't a lone striker he works best off of a striker either centrally or again out wide. Werner before this season had accomplished nothing of note and spends most of his time playing alongside a powerful striker who takes the burden of what he doesn't possess physically therefore not ideal for what we need but a good young prospect in a different system.

Belotti is the only one of them good enough to make the move to the prem currently and lead a team.

Benteke is perfectly suited to Koeman's style, he's strong, very good hold up play, far better with his back to goal than Rom, a genuine threat aerially and most importantly brings guaranteed premier league goals. His goals to game ratio compared to Lukaku since 2012 is 42% to Roms 47% which is impressive considering his injury issues and horrid time with that lot which massively reduced the amount of goals he scored due to not suiting them stylistically. Here he wouldn't have that problem, for all purposes he's a better version of Pelle and Koeman worked wonders with him during his time at Southampton and Feyenoord.

Our list of targets that suit Koeman and are well known names is small, in the prem alone only Giroud and Benteke fit the criteria that are good enough and realistic targets, outside the prem it's a complete gamble on players like Willian Jose, Modeste, Dost, Raul Jimenez, Babacar all not really well known names but linked because they fit the style more than a Belotti, Icardi who would be great signings but not to directly fit Koeman.

One name your spot on about is Mario Gomez think had he been 4/5 years younger he would have been absolutely ideal for us and the direction we are heading.

I greatly appreciate your well thought out response, and I agree with much of what you are saying. However there are two points that make me disagree with your opinion here as a whole:

1. I've have watched nearly every match Benteke played for palace, and as my best mate is a lifetime red I have watched every minute he played for the RS. I firmly believe that his lack of movement on the offensive end will stagnate our offense completely, and that his inability to apply the press high up the pitch will be detrimental to our overall game plan. We will fall into countless stretches where we are forced to play hoove ball up to the big man to relieve our pressed defense. I believe his hold up play and aerial ability would be perfect for him to be a role player within the squad. Late in games and specific match ups; however, to put him as our 1st choice which his price tag would insinuate would be a major regression and counter productive to Koeman's entire rebuilding project.

2. The best managers are so because they can adapt their game plans to be most effective with the pieces that are available. Luckily for Koeman, our new financial support dictates that we are not solely relying on those currently on our roster alone but also those players that are available on the open market. However when the open market does not possess a suitable player for your ideal system to function perfectly, then a change or adaption needs to be made by the manager in order to get the most out of the talent that is available to him. He can hold firmly to his system despite the lack of the players needed, or he can make a function adaption to that system to capitalize on the specific skill sets of the talent that is available. This trait separates the best managers from the good managers.

Just a quick note but Milik got 7 goals in 9 games but he did his cruciate so wouldn't say he had a poor season. Couldn't really get a game after that thanks to Mertens.
