In the unlikely event that he does actually sign, I will follow davek's example in the Siggy thread, move my goalposts, and adopt a "We're overpaying for him" stance.

He's actually a decent striker, and when he was playing for Villa, he often looked unplayable, but he's one dimensional and, despite his goals last season, I don't think he's good enough for us.

If he can recapture his form from the Villa days .. will be great! Plus his sell on fee if he did fail would still be quite strong. Some lower level PL team would always take him off us for a decent price. Worth the gamble !
