So this puts 50 pages of panicking and @chicoazul jarg rumour he'd gone to Celtic well and truly in its place.

Relax. Bobby's got this.

good signing, and will offer more than deulofeu did last season.....lets just hope he settles into the prem league quickly.....great to add so more pace to our attack

Lukaku aside, I'm finding it hard to enjoy the incoming transfers and loans this window.

They've all been telegraphed so far in advance, and have dragged on so long, that it hasn't felt like there has been a definitive moment to enjoy. We've just sort of floated between the feeling of 'it'd be great if we sign him' through a sustained feeling of 'it seems like we've signed him' to a somehow underwhelming 'we've confirmed we've signed him.'

I like the bolt-out-of-the-blue work of last summer, while we're overflowing with last-minute panic.

We've been far too civilised this summer.

Players are queuing up to play for us under RM

It's a good point. I think he has changed the perception of us as a club. There is a lot of bitterness and jealousy going on from other clubs fans which i'm finding quite amusing too. We can't compete financially so Martinez just exploits the loan market and look how it's paid off this season with getting Barry and Lukaku back permanently.

I'm hoping this fella has more end product than Deulofeu and knows when to run at the defence, and when to keep possession. I found that frustrating about Deulofeu, despite his flashes of brilliance and don't think he was as good as some made out.

ha, like people have said, the internet with it's ITK's have ruined this. long gone are the days when you'd type in 302 on ceefax in the hope to see EVERTON SIGN .... as one of the headlines. i sort of understand what you mean, i mean i'd say it's more of a relief when the player does actually sign rather than the and happiness of it coming totally out of the blue - doesn't mean i wasn't buzzing off my tits when we got lukaku though.

i do prefer knowing progress and a lot of what's going on as opposed to being totally in the dark mind you

This post right here shows that there is just no pleasing Evertonians.

The Lukaku day was as euphoric a transfer I've seen in a while. Better than any last-minute loan I can remember.

I know what you mean with the out-of-the-blue good news transfer, the spike of adrenaline and sudden input of joy is a bit like scoring a goal. Would you celebrate Everton goals as much if they'd been getting more likely over the last week and had been 99% likely for the last 48 hours? Still the "take your time, get everything right" approach is obviously better for the club.
I'm happy to save the buzz for the pitch.
