Christian Atsu

But the problem here, for me anyway, is that he was failing to get his head up. I know what you're talking about and appreciate that we should have been getting players in to them positions quicker but if he saw there was no one there then he'd be in a position to delay the pass. And the same goes for the times he delayed when he shouldn't have. If he got his head up and saw we had players coming in whip that ball in early.

Thats fair enough...he seemed to put the hard cross in when he'd gone on the outside and run out of pitch...whenever he beat his man on the inside, he would inevitably shoot. Maybe we had him a year too early, or could do with him for a second season, although I'm not unhappy if we bring Atsu in ...sheer pace will wreck many Prem teams in the last quarter of a game.

Pretty close as to how it went!

Just hoover the milk up mate

I don't think Delofeu was that poor at crossing...he would often hit the ball hard across goal from the byline, but we rarely had anyone on the end of these crosses. He had a habit of shooting, looking for a spectacular goal, but at the same time, his hard low crosses were difficult for defences to deal with. Its difficult to find a player with amazing talent who doesn't 'showboat' sometimes, it comes with the territory.
Could be that crossing isn't a big part of his armoury as it's not so badly needed in Spanish football. They tend to cross less from longer range (too busy with that tippy tappy passing rubbish) and go more for the balls across goal from close in.

Crossing / Corners are just not important in Spanish / Italian football.

You can see this when the ball is running out of play, and the winger / attacler hardly ever chases it down, or presure the defender to put it out.

Clearly has a lot of potential. However not our player and would need 2 seasons to get to the ideal stage for us to build a platform on and rely on.

Thats the issue with signing young lads on loan with no way to sign them, however having him probably saved us cash signing someone and the money went towards signing lukaku

Wouldn't mind Atsu on loan. Our loans last season Went very well, and Atsu would be given a role that was left empty with the loanend of Deulofeu. He would also have seen the progress made by Lukaku and Deulofeu here, seen the amount of time they were given on the pitch and the confidence given to them by teammates and gaffer. If the loan works well and we like what we see... there is nothing to stop us from offering a deal to take him on permanently next summer.

Just got an alert on my phone saying the deal is done years loan. Alert was from bleacher report and story is in the evening standard

Materazzi scored a beaut of a goal from a corner 2006 WC final.
Balotelli's goal against England this time out too.
What about those Real Madrid goals against bayern in the champions league semi.
