started as a right back but has been playing in the centre this season, looks a lot better there too.

Haven't seen enough (or anything, actually) of these kids to form any sort of an opinion, but personally I think it's great that they are getting loaned out and getting lower league experience.

Martinez knows and has publicly said that a good youth system will be essential if we are to bridge the gap. I've been of the opinion that we need to be able to produce one player a season who can become a senior squad member. Optimistically, half of those might become regular starters, so one new academy player becoming a regular starter every couple of years.

He played him in CM to help his positional awareness mate and ran the show supposedly.

I thought he was more an attacking CM - at least that's how I recollect Martinez was playing him on tour.

Injured apparently. Found a source last night and promptly forgot where I've put it. Definitely not confusing him with McAleny though, who's also injured.

Martinez said he was out injured during that interview that was released last night.
