Player Valuation: £40m
The Burnley winger is in talks with Rangers about a £1.3m transfer. He's an intelligent and able footballer who's still only 24. I'm not saying that we should go in for him, but we don't have a lot of creativity on the right side of midfield. He's definitely worth looking at for any club that are financially hamstrung.

I've always thought he could do a job you know, strikes me as a perfect Moyes player. Looks too light weight at times, but the goal he scored against us a few years back showed he can do the business. Moyes would make him very decent I'm sure, at that price too....good move for Rangers if he does go there.

not a bad shout this 1.3 million even if he dont make the grade he would be a better player under moysey and we could sell him on for a profit down the line in a couple of years

Agree with original post. It's a big miss by Moyes, if he won't go for him for that price, maybe not a Jonathan de Guzman kind of miss (but he didn't sign with anyone afterall), but I feel Eagles would be a really nice addition to our squad.
Would gladly offer a swap with Vaughan for example.

If you think that we're paying around £1m for two players who are totally unproven at the highest level (Silva and Gueye), then a touch more for a player who is still a long way from his prime sounds viable to me. Don't forget that he's only valued at £1.3m because he's in the final year of his contract at Burnley. From a purely business point of view, we could more than double our money on him if it didn't work out and we moved him on in a season or two. From a football point of view I think he has a lot to offer. Owne Coyle eulogised about how he can play all across the midfield and as a second striker if needed. The number of assists that he provided in a struggling side last season is comparable to Pienaar.

I am sure I posted about him a while back, and got lambasted.

I would sign him in a heartbeat.

With the correct manager (Moyes) , he will be another good servant for the good of our club.

a fee of around £2 million was agreed. rangers offered over £12,000 per week. eagles turned it down as he wanted 'significantly' more. i would guess he wanted £18 - 20,000 pw. considering he was not always a regular for burnley i would think twice about offering him that.

He was a regular under Coyle, not his fault that Brian Laws is a terrible manager, who doesn't know who are his best players.

Source?

Both The Guardian and SkySports have it at closer to £1.3m.

His official reason for rejecting Rangers was that it's "not in his best interests". That's open to interpretation. It might be that he would prefer to remain in the North West. I'm surprised that Owen Coyle hasn't moved to take him to Bolton.
