What are the chances of that happening? Slim, I reckon.

Rofl.

Superb stuff this mate. Everton is for life and beyond.

You mean Everton is to infinity....

:lol::lol::lol:
Really mate, I do understand your frustration, but I also recognise knee jerk reactions. Would you really choose anything else given the option? I for one certainly wouldn't and I'm covinced the same applies for you.

Tbf, this isn't knee jerk. Ghost has been on this trip for a while. He started a Moyes Out (next year) thread even before the season started didn't he?? To me it depends why you support your team... if the most important thing to you is enjoyment and entertainment then clearly Everton are not supplying that very well atm. I missed the game today cos of work, and when I saw the result I was glad. Last week i was on a rollercoaster watching it with my brothers, and at the end I was bouncing up and down in the middle of a half empty pub cheering to myself!

In some ways i almost envy Portsmouth/Leeds fans. At least they know theyve been f*cked up and are [Poor language removed]. We're supposed to be on the cusp of Europe, of being great again, and yet we keep being disapointed. Would you rather have you hopes dashed time and time again, or have no hope at all?

In the end, if supporting the team is bringing Ghost - or anyone - more pain than joy, more despair than hope, then I can understand them walking away. Personally I could never walk away, but i wouldn't castigate anyone who choose to do so themselves.

Do you know what, they are successful people - mainly cos they are arrogant, but they are confident. Evertonians are not confident, you only have to read what was on here before the game, people believing Newcastle were going to win.

Only because we can anticipate DMs cack teams and negative tactics.

yeah very often eveton let us down, frustrate us to the point of asking why do we do it, but stop and ask urself... Wud i change it for any other team??? I no all the premierships in the world for me the answer wud be no!!
I lov everton to the point its an obsession and i not even from liverpool, i was only converted 16 yrs ago and everton have become a part of how i am - i hope that never changes

[All that about Everton choosing you, if you dont know it yet, the first bit doesn't apply]

Choose Everton. Choose a job that pays to let you watch. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a french connection UK television. choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance. Choose fixed interest mortage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisurewear and matching luggage. Choose a three-piece suite on hire purchase in a range of french connect fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the french connection you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing
game shows, stuffing french connection junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pishing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, french connected up brats you spawned to replace yourself.

Choose your future.

Be chosen by Everton.

any a-hole can follow a winning team or a choose a team thats just got a billionaire owner, what I love about being an evertonian is that when you see another fan in a shopping mall or on the high street, you know he's a proper fan, not a glory hunter, invariably he'll know what he's talking about and invariably he'll be able to real off facts figures and stats about his beloved Everton. You'll know he will at some point have cried over his team, and you know he'll experience, one day, an unimaginable feeling of joy and excitement when they next win a trophy, being an Evertonian is perfect.
If you're a lifelong chelsea or city fan, Man u or Liverpool, people will look at you in a mall with suspision, "is he a real fan,or some glory hunting, band waggon riding a-hole?"
F That. Everton all day long.

As an American with no exposure to the game, I had little choice but to choose a team when I decided to start following football more closely. I picked Everton, just in time to witness a 6-1 defeat to Arsenal at home to start last season. I could have easily bailed, but even at the bottom of the table, I know I made the right choice.

I'm an American who chose Everton before Timmy or Landon. My experience has been great. I couldn't look at myself in the mirror if I was a glory hunter and chose any one of you know who. Everton is a REAL club. Real clubs struggle. They have highs, and they have lows. I will tell you this, I enjoy the good moments with Everton way more than any fans of those other clubs do, I guarantee it. How can you enjoy success when the game is rigged in your favor? Everton have been easily of the most successful clubs in English football over the last 6 years. These are good times (well not right now at the moment but there's no way things stay this way). The people on here have only justified my decision to follow this path. We have REAL fans. And really, considering that players come and go, managers come and go, owners come and go, shirts come and go every year, the only thing that really remains constant is the people you're in the trenches with. I'm proud to be associated with the Everton nation in whatever small way I am.

I love the American cats loyalty to the cause, I admire it as you clearly have to be some sort of sadist to support Everton without local lynx. I reckon it's what makes it so ace on here though, the international lids.

you know, supporting everton isnt easy. but when that one high moment comes along, it is so fantastic that it makes all the disappointment go away. with united, almost everything is a high, so whats the point?!
sure it comes with highs and lows, but thats what makes it so great. you pour your heart into a team- and the highs are possibly the best thing ever, and the lows the worst. but its 100% worth it.
