Gonna be weird going to Luton later in the season and the ball won't be bouncing about twenty feet in the air every time we play a pass which goes above head height. Maybe, looking back, they should have played HEAD HEIGHT! rules at kenilworth road in the 1980's and we might have won the odd match there.
Do you remember when you got a SUPER bouncy bouncing ball from the beach front shop on holiday in dorset and then went back to the caravan and absolutely slinged the ball with all your might against the floor and it spent the next five minutes ricocheting around the inside of the caravan so fast you couldn't even see the thing for the first four minutes? That's what football at Kenilworth Road felt like, but actually there was a magic about those times too. Sometimes you'd be watching a match on a plastic pitch AND there'd be a foot of snow AND the ball would be orange, and it was like a fever dream. Happier days or the deceptive power of nostalgia? You decide.
