I wouldn't have thought that chicken pox was a serious enough thing to require a vaccine against, until I read the article I had no idea of potential very serious complications with catching chicken pox, my experience of it both with me and my sons was that it wasn't a very serious disease. A week off school and done..

…..back in the day it was encouraged to try and let your kids get chicken pox, particularly the girls as it can be quite nasty virus for pregnant women.

No, they get human pox..usually results in loss of head.

Wish I'd paid for my nippers to have the vax. Mrs and I had a dirty weekend planned and both kids got the pox within a week of each other banjanxing the whole thing.

Never did get that dirty weekend, neither. At least I've got Everton.

Nearly lost my youngest to it when he was 10 months old, invasive Strep A got in due to the chicken pox and about 2 weeks and 4 surgeries later he finally came out of hospital, apparently rare but it was a grim experience. Vaccine can only be a good thing.
