The goal wasnt holgates fault gomes and iwobi both gave Hudson odoi time to pick any pass he wants. And it was lucky

Actually thought goal was Iwobis error. Holgates gone to press and is going back into the back four. Iwobi just leaves his man behind him without handing him over and goes to press. Easy through ball then and Holgates not gotten back into position.

The last 5 or 10 minutes of that half and Chelsea were already looking tired, they’ve done a lot there.
The last 30 minutes of this game will be all Everton, can we nick a couple?

Bit gutting that the goal was 100% avoidable, but can’t say it wasn’t deserved. We can defo get at these if we come out of our shell a bit second half like we did second half against united.

On the up side, it’s only 1-0. Our record against Chelsea doesn’t fill me with hope, but we did exorcise that Anfield ‘monkey on our back’, so who knows?! Over to you Carlo, work some magic!

Not a bad half for Everton at all, but Chelsea are very organized. We loose the ball too often, but I can't see anyone on the bench that can to anything else. Maybe Siggy should get a more attacking role

I feel like Davies has a part to play here - more legs than Gomes and he’s more positive with his passing - need to try and get Iceland on the ball more - he may not always show it but he does have the ability to create the chances.

Maybe romanticizing, but this team really could use a Mirallas or Deulofeu... hell, even a McGeady. Pacey players that can make a run and actually beat somebody. Feels like our team is made up of physical players (DCL, Richarlison) or more technical playmakers (Gomes, Sigurdsson, Digne), and sometimes we just need somebody to make a run at the defense and not lose the ball IMMEDIATELY.
