Yes, I understood the initial indirect comparison. I'm sure we've all had rants after being frustrated with a game. Mine was just that, but I stand by my disdain for Chelsea. It probably goes back to their booing of a Chelsea goal against Bolton in 1998, when they wanted Everton to go down. Accusing somebody of kopite behaviour because they use "get some history" in a clearly kneejerk, emotional rant is a little annoying. Hence my defence of it! Time to move on now anyway- I've chilled out!

Oh the Bolton goal was annoying, yeah. That's why I don't like Chelsea either.

Presumably because he'd ran up to Ramires and somebody else with his arms outstretched. That is why he was then grabbed by Ivanovic.

Steve McManaman: I don’t think it was worth a red card, Jon Moss, the referee didn't see the incident - it's up to the law makers now.

.......just got in, not sure of the latest status of the Ivanovic incident but my main concern was Chelsea's OTT reaction to such an innocuous foul. At first I thought Barry had done something very bad but it was nothing, certainly not worthy of a booking. It says a lot about Chelsea's gamesmanship and is a sad indictment of the game.

Overall a night of glorious failure. Other key incidents revolved around Lukaku's miss, and my feeling it was a glaring miss. Goal scorers have a feel for where keepers are which is why the best finish near the posts or get some height. The other is the keepers error in respect of the goal and in my opinion he should've saved it. RMs decision to play Howard was justified up to that point, whether it was fully justified is a moot point.

Fine for all the Chelsea players to run 30 yards to mob the ref but as soon as Everton players started to protest about the over-reaction and surrounding the ref, Chelsea didn't like it. Only the Champions Elect have the right, see?

Jamo assaulted Ivanovic's forearm with his throat, so deserved his card IMO

He is the most fouled player in Europe. He was the most fouled player in Europe last season. And the season before that. He's only trying to prolong his career from monsters such as this:

Stop trying to pretend he's a Neymar or Luis Suarez. (The Stoke player only got a yellow card for that)

I'm really not trying to pretend he is, because he's not as bad, but he is getting close to that level. Yeah he's suffered a bad few challenges, it happens to players in every team pretty much (especially against Stoke, like), and he's not as much of an angel as he appears to be to you, cuz he still dives quite a lot, waves his arms like a little tw@ when anyone is near him and goes down super quick.

He also kicked a ballboy, but you know, what an angel.

Unbelievable. Chelsea AND us charged with failing to control our players, and no retrospective action being taken against Ivanovic at all.

Chelsea had already got at the ref subliminally by his booking Besic for the first tackle of the game. The influencing of the ref, this time on the pitch, became more explicit as the game went on. Their fume when Barry made the foul was ridiculous but all part of their 'professionalism' (as the media now label cheating) that is grilled into them by Mourinho. The reaction was what you'd expect if a player had gone in two-footed and broke their man's leg, not for a stupid trip in an unimportant area of the field when their player was on the verge of losing the ball anyway.
