I don't think Rom is short on confidence. He probably needs a goal but he has been one of our better players and his workrate, hold up play and touch has improved massively.

We just need to improve the service into him.
Can't get much better service than a ball cutting out the whole defence right to his feet, five yards out from goal. Typically, he fires it right at the goalkeeper, with the whole goal to aim at.

We're more dangerous to those teams at the top seeing as we've been under performing and are capable of so much more, none of them will fancy playing us when they have so much at stake.
I'm going for 12-15 points (3-4 wins the rest draws) from the remaining 13 games, hope its more but just can't see it

Very brave effort by the players last night but there is no getting away from the fact it,s 2 wins in 16 games, 1 goal scored in the last 4 matches and 5 pts of the bottom 3.

What has happended to Ross? He looks like he is running through treacle to get forward and there seems to be no effective understanding or combination play up front between the players for sustained periods of the last 4 matches.

The next PL game will be massive in terms of moving as far away as possible from the bottom 3 before we play another top 4 side.

We've only got one game left against the current top 4. Only two against the traditional top 4. We've got 5 games left against teams below us.

An earlier poster said that Howard loves getting beaten at his near post and last night's goal did remind me of Adebayor's winner for Spurs last season.

I was very disappointed that Joel who has not put a foot wrong in the last month was dropped. DM had a rule that if a player comes in and does well he keeps the spot. It encourages a squad mentality and is just good management.

I just know that Joel would have handled that centre differently.

Frankly I have not gotten over Howard's performance against Palace.

Joel has put feet wrong, he just has not paid for it. He conceded to CP, but Jags would not allow it. Too bad Jags wasn't behind Howard to clear at the death, then we'd be talking about how great that point was and how it should have been 3

Howard has always had a weakness at his left hand post, if you look back it is notable how many goals he concedes there,
agree he should have done better with the first ball in.
Overall he did not have a bad game, but I prefer Joel.

What did J Mac actually do to get booked???

I said during the game and not changing opinion i think the lads
were solid last night worked really hard not long ago we were complaining about the defence
whats happend too it? its been sorted out the last couple of games, yes going forward wasnt as great but it was against top of the League with alot more quality.. we even had the better chances in my eyes last couple of minutes they score its devastating but cant fault the lads we had chances great saves from Cech could of went our way easily another night.
