Chelsea have had a £35m bid for Torres turned down! Confirmed by the club this evening. Chelsea will apparently up the offer.

Story is on The Times site but is subscription.

They'll be able to get in Suarez and more for that....

I'll cry if they get Suarez. I can't believe how underrated he is -- price-wise -- when his scoring record is so fantastic, and he's so young.

If Torres left and Suarez came in I would love it, as much as I hate to say it Suarez isnt half the player Torres is.

Fully agree. I love Suarez, i've watched Ajax for yeas now so have a soft spot for them and Suarez has come on in leaps and bounds over the last two seasons.

1.) Torres has done nothing for 12 months. Present tense, Suarez is twice the player ladyboy is.

2.) They'd have A LOT of dosh left over.

Couldnt disagree more, Suarez has done all his work in the dutch league, go and have a look at all the top goalscorers over there the last couple of years, most couldnt cut it in a decent league.

Torres is proven at the highest level.

Suarez was pivotal in getting Uruguay -- URUGUAY -- to finish 3RD in the WORLD CUP.

Suarez knows where the goal is; end of. On top form I do think Torres is better, but then he's got 3 or so years on Suarez, and the point I was highlighting is that they'd be paying about half as much for Suarez as Chelsea would be for Torres, so they'd be able to strengthen quite heavily.

I think Forlan did that, Suarez was gash in the world cup except for his handball. Forlan was a class act and made Suarez look bad.

Suarez is a good player, but he is made to look better than he is domestically by playing in the dutch league, and internationally by playing alongside Forlan.

Torres on the other hand is the bollocks, though £35 million (which is what Barcelona paid for Villa) is at the high end of what he is worth.

You don't need to tell be about Forlán mate; I'm his biggest fan.

All I'm saying is Suarez is quality. You can just see it in his play. He's not as good as Torres, assuming the spaniard can refind his form, but his work rate is better, he's less of a moaner and like I said it would give Liverpool a lot of extra income. So my point is, as Torres has done nought for a year and is continuing to be a bit poo, them getting Suarez in instead and a load of cash could be a massive boost. And no Evertonian likes to see that happen.

Id be delighted if they lost ladyboy and got suarez. If suarez is so sh*t hot, why havent the bigger boys in european football come in to buy him. I mean surely after the way he played at the world cup every top club had their scouts watching him closely, and 20 million is not out of Chelsea, utd, city, inter, barca, real madrid, bayerns reach is it.

He,s a good player no doubt, but he isnt that fast and is small in stature and in my opinion you need to have one of traits to cut it as a striker in england. He scored plenty of goals in holland because he was playing in a team who in 90% of their games would own the ball and create plenty of chances for him, that wont be the case at the RS. In the world cup, the pace of the game was extremely slow and probably suited his style. He,s a good finisher, but only half the player torres is.
