2025/26 Charly Alcaraz

Dont think he trusts Alcaraz at all. Never been convinced and seems to constantly be barking out orders at him.

KdH came on, done absolutely nothing in that role. Mcneil had 10 minutes there, done absolutely nothing.
It seems like he's deffo being an arse with him, probably his only game plan this season by the looks of it. Ironically, thought KDH had his best game for us tonight linking play, but sadly not getting the ball to a strikers boot, as per...

Let’s not forget Barry got the same treatment too. He was hooked after 45.

For Charlie it’s always going to be a tough ask with Grealish, KDH and Ndiaye ahead of you. He needs to bide his time and be the bridesmaid for now, one of those will no doubt pick up an injury and he’ll be straight in with a run of games. He needs to grasp the opportunity with both hands when it happens.

I think last night he did give the ball away too frequently and that’s where he needs to improve.

Btw I don’t think KDH has been anything sensational but he hardly gives the ball away and that makes a huge difference.

KDH is miles ahead of him mate. Much better in possession, passes the ball well, already has a goal and an assist this season.

I haven't seen anything from alcaraz to suggest he should be in our starting 11 anytime soon.

cannot get my head around his treatment. I remember one sloppy touch yesterday but him and Garner in the first half were the only ones who seemed up for it. Maybe Coleman but he is just past it now sadly.
I'm with Moyes

Never been convinced with the lad - he improved us last season because Doucoure was the alternative, but he's lacking quality with the ball. He gets into good pockets of space, he drives forward well because he's good good acceleration, but ultimately he does very little with it usually.

I understand why we signed him (the price made it worthwhile), but it's night and day when we have intelligent footballers like KDH, Grealish, Ndiaye etc on the pitch and then comparing it to Charly's blood and thunder approach

Did you happen to catch several chances and assists he created last season with his precision passing? He's an exceptionally gifted technical player

I remember a couple early on in particular, but that seemed to fade away.

He's an upgrade on our bench players of recent years, but I can clearly see why the Flamengo manager wasn't sold on him and said what he said about him. Suits a counter attacking side, but I just don't think he's good enough in possession to play in a team that tries to open up teams with a bit of guile. Just doesn't look after the ball well enough for me.
