I find it strange we missed our obligation so there’s nothing stopping another team entering negotiations with Flamego for £25m for example but there’s not been much of the usual story telling from ‘sources’
Even at £20m I’d be suprised if other teams weren’t interested or Flamengo weren’t prospecting elsewhere in the press.

My he’s just flown under the radar because he’s at Everton as there’s been next to no reporting on him tbf.

On Wednesday evening The Times, supported by Brazilian outlet Globo, reported negotiations were progressing well and the ECHO understands there is growing confidence a deal to make Alcaraz an Everton player will be completed before the end of the month, with the Blues having priority in transfer talks for him until May 31.

The Echo have said we have the priority/exclusivity to exercise the option at £12m (€15m) by 31st May

There was a recent article somewhere about Beto's hope that Charly remains. He said that their styles fit so well together because Charly likes to drive with the ball and put passes in ahead of him, and that before every game, Charly tells him, "I'm making you an assist today, Beto!" Charly's three assists were all to Beto. I'm going to love watching these guys play together.

Also, did anyone see the season stats and trivia posted by the club today? It included one bit about how Charly is only the second player whose first two goals for the club were away winners. The first was Tim Cahill.

An absolute no brainer at that sort of fee will only improve
Spot on, hopefully the first of many signings of this type of player in that kind of price range - we’ve tried spending stupid money on mostly dross, and look how that ended up.

Let’s buy and develop decent young players who should only improve, and if they don’t, then we’ve not really lost anything.

I thought he was good vs west ham, when he actually plays in his natural position he looked dangerous. As you said, not many starts.
Ya there was a couple games I remember him and Doucoure started together and it just didn't work with Alcaraz playing out wide which doesn't suit him at all

…. I did post some weeks ago that he might be more effective away from home where we’re more likely to counter attack. His game is lots to do with transitioning but it was good to see him being a goal threat at Newcastle. Terrific cross for Beto to score against Ipswich but he might be less effective against teams who sit in.
It be nice to eventually have a squad with options. Alcaraz gives us a good option away from home / playing on the counter as you say

It would be daft not to get him at the price. He undoubtedly makes the team stronger whether he starts or is a rotation player. Now we just need a pacy option to add to the mix.
