Have heard a few Southampton fans rave about him, going by what they say about him the lad is quality.
I have spoken with my colleague who is a Southampton fan and he said he is a quality player and was disappointed they let him go. Skillful, and plays with fire were his words. He said Everton fans are going to like him.

What if he’s brilliant mate!
We know how it works...

Step 1: Dave says they're crap (unless it's a Celtic player) and "I will reserve judgement" while continuing to post negatively about said player.

*if they're crap he's proved right/if good (step 2)

Step 2: say they should be offering more or begrudgingly admit they have done well but it's short term

*if form is lost (back to Step 1)/if continue to be good (step 3)

Step 3: if form continues, suggest the club cannot ever sell them and consideration of sale is tantamount to negligence and the owners/manager/DoF should be ousted.

(conditional) Step 3.5: if the player isn't sold, but their form dips (back to step 1) + blame the club for not selling while the value was high.

Step 4: blame the club for selling player cheaply, eulogise the player at every opportunity. Any replacement begins at step 1.

Excellent, although you missed the analysis of who takes the credit/blame for the signing which could oscillate between Moyes/Thelwell depending on Davek’s particular agenda at the time.

I'm sure there are millions of Brits living on the Costas who don't speak a word of Spanish after 5 years
Oh I understand that and I couldn't learn another language if my life depended on it
I just can't imagine how hard it must be to settle into a squad of players when there are obvious communication difficulties. 🤷‍♂️
