2024/25 Charly Alcaraz

…I like the lad but maybe we’re used to mediocracy and getting a bit carried away with having footballers who can control and look after the ball. I have no strong opinion on keeping him or not, but there is quality out there who won’t cost a kings ransom.
We're not used to mediocrity we're used to crap, so mediocre players appear good to us.

Reading between the lines I don't think Moyes fancies him.
My question is if that's the case, why is he playing at all? Wouldn't sub appearances trigger his clause? It's an incompetent decision from Moyes if he doesn't rate him so I don't think that is it. I think he is going with his comfort pick and giving DOUCS his farewell tour.

I think the manager has already made his mind up on this one. It’s absolutely nuts that the last real chance he was given in his favoured role was away to Palace when he scored and had an assist in a battling team performance, and hasn’t been given a proper sniff since. Bizarre.

Not totally convinced about him myself, but he is young fairly cheap and might be worth a gamble.
Is he a player the manager wants ?
No, I dont believe so.

Not starting him much gives that away.

He wont be here next season and I cant say Ilm that arsed. We can do better.

Just been reading how Moyes is “Furious” with Alcaraz for giving the ball away leading to City’s opening goal. Yeah you can stick a fork in this one.

The only player to be furious with yesterday is 'St Jarrad'.

HE failed to put a sitter away. HE dawdled claiming offside when he should have been at the near post cutting out the cross that was converted for City's first.

Kind of depends on the veracity of the source though, doesn’t it?
Not really if there’s direct quotes there no.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, Moyes made his feelings clear about Alcaraz giving the ball away, which lead to Nico O’Reilly’s opening goal.

“I thought we should have definitely dealt with the first goal better than we did do, but we had given the ball away terribly,” Moyes said.

“A simple pass around the box which would have maybe made the difference.”
