Could’t agree more on the Mcgeady shout. What I found peculiar was that he didn’t seem to be somebody who particularly fitted into a RM team, this being one that is focused solely on possession.

One thing Mcgeady can do albeit inconsistently is beat a man and deliver a good ball, whilst also sticking to the touchline. I think two into three doesn’t go, and if we imagine that Deulofeu will be first choice then surely one of Lennon must depart.

Same with the left backs, if Garbutt is going to make a real go of the LB role this season then I would imagine it would be at the expense of the “versatile” Oviedo. This would also hopefully see Galloway move inside and challenge Browning and Pennington for the fourth choice centre half spot. Would imagine at least one or two of these will see a championship loan next season.

I can definitely see something like this. I will make it clear that I think McGeady will go and hope he does, but Koeman may like him.

I agree 100% on the defence. I think Baines's games will need to be managed and Garbutt who also has a wand of a left foot should be looking to step up more. I'd happily see either Galloway, Browning or Pennington sent out on loan for 3 months. Ideally I'd say Galloway as I think he'd benefit most from it. If Stones were to leave I think signing another experienced Centre halve would be sensible to help out Mori and the younger players. Scott Dann (though unpopular) would fit the bill perfectly. Obviously Van Dijk would be a fantastic signing.

That's a very tricky question as we don't know who will stay or go. I suspect of the 3 we currently have he would play it safe with Stones & Jagielka. If Stones goes it could be his new man (looks like Dann or Van Dijk) and Jagielka. Pre season will be important though. Mori is his type of defender aerially but is still a little raw. Think Jagielka will be third choice. One of RFM or Stones likely to be sold, and big money spent on a first choice to play with the one that isn't. Browning and Pennington as back up.

I would think Stones would be his type of CB (with guidance on defending). Also think Jags (underrated as he is would also be valued), so that would be the starting cb partnership. RFM would be Jags' backup, unless Stones went and then maybe Van Dijk comes into the equation. Not sure why we keep being linked with Dann, really not keen on that.
