Neiler

Player Valuation: £100m
Am i right in saying our sponsorship with Chang ends at the end of the season? As far as i can remeber this brought a few million quid into the club.

I wonder at current market prices(Spurs Madison deal)/european qualification this could swell the coffers a little for tranfers.

In terms of other monies coming in:

We will have prem palcement money. (1 million per place)
T.V. Money (500,000) for every game shown i think.

Could be that the on/of pitch activites might both merge successfully at the same time and we may have a decent pot to play with?

I know it will only ever be speculation even for the finacial wizzkids but hey feck all else to do till tomorow! What do people think?

My Guess 15mill

Well the Chang deal was a three year deal signed in July 2005 and earnt us around £2m per season. By contrast, the Spurs deal with Mansion was worth £34m over 4 seasons (£8.5m per season). Hopefully when the Chang deal expires next season we'll secure a much better deal.

With Reading losing today I would think we're pretty sure of a top 7 place, hopefully higher. That will earn us a decent chunk, especially compared to last year.

If we get into Europe then there will also be television money from any European games, although unless we get into the latter stages this won't be much. Perhaps the odd million.

Obviously the new tv money will contribute the largest rise in income but I remain a little sceptical about how much of that will simply be transferred directly into players pockets. Obviously this will make us richer in comparison with the rest of Europe but within the PL I don't know that it will make all that much difference.

the new tv deal will see foreign clubs valuing their players significantly higher than they were a season ago when linked with a prem move.

will be interesting to see how man ure get on with bayern for hargreaves.

Great points about foreign clubs and in IMO championship clubs wanting a peice of the premeirship pie. If reports and speculation are true it could have been shrewed that the club agreed a fee for fernandes and perhaps a pre-agreement with preston for Nugent in January, speculation i know but wel see how it plays out! Could have sworn the chang deal was for two years but my bets on you bruce!

there was a problem in portugal last week, a player called 'to ze' (i think) moved clubs and a court battle ensued, the club he went too payed up the remainder of his contractual wages (70k) when the club he had left were looking for 7 mill.

it shall be interesting to see if sidwell stays at reading, woodgate actually pens a full deal at boro, what we will pay for crewes billy davis, and if we will be able to snag etherington - a player being linked with brum.

i probably say this every year (i most definatley think it) but this coming summer is going to break all records and be the busiest in english football transfer history.

i hasten to add, i hope to high heaven that there is a clause in the contract that states if we make european competition there is a shirt sponsor payout.

after all, its more exposure at home and abroad.

I agree suits but haveyou noticed that with the extra money in the game that smaller clubs still cant sign players. I mean Pompey, Boro, Wigan, and Bolton all ahve money and tried last summer to shop at the higher end of the market, what we saw and AJ was a perfect example that players chose traditionly big clubs over these. I have a feeling that with so much money in the game more and more transfers will be decided on the club the player wants to play for rather than transfer fees or wages once a certain level is reached. Perhaps integrity is creeping back into the game, and the money greed drien era is coming to an end and a terrible beauty has been reborn!

if its a beauty like that in your avatar then sweet, but i cant see the sterling hungry agents growing scruples anytime in the next millenia, i reckon if arsenal had matched us on fee and wages AJ would have gone to the emirates.

my concern now is if fernandes settles and REALLY starts to produce, to be honest he has shown flashes of true brilliance, nothing for a duration of a game, when he gets fully fit and on the same wavelength as arteta these two are going to embarrass 90% of the prem whilst only in second gear.

i hate to hex it, but the future could just be looking bright, its looking moyes and a quality squad.

I wouldn't say that integrity is creeping back into the game at all :) After all, if it was a choice between playing for Topdogs FC for £70k a week or Crappy United for £100k a week I suspect most players with any ambition would choose the good side (Lucas Neill excluded). It's hardly as if any top level footballer will be living in poverty.

Coming back to the subject, it would be very nice to see us getting a decent sponsor from which we would get more than 2 mill or free bags of rice!
This is one aspect we have been missing out on.

Tesco anyone????

So maybe here someone can help me ... in the toffeweb forum some people talked about a sponsor from a drink (in bottles). I have forgotten the name of it, but I think somebody said it's more something to drink for girls. :)

Has anyone an Idea?
