Championship 2022/23

Had one bet on the season so far. Burnley to be relegated at 25/1 with PaddyPower. Only 11s with 365. Selling off top players to the Toffees, financial problems ready to rear up and a big name unproven manager who is likely to lose his cool in a Burnley winter surrounded by sheep. May take a while to start sinking but I can see an implosion sooner rather than later.

Still want Norwich to be liquidated so we never have to see them back up in the Premier League with their nonsense

Greatest league in the world starts tonight. I watch alot of championship throughout the season as have a bet on weekend and play championship fantasy footy so i keep tabs on lots of the teams and players. Thought id create a thread for the season.

Teams i expect to be promoted;

West Brom - Bruce as manager and may get forced out by fans if they dont start well. Signed Swift and Wallace who are two of the best midfielders in the championship over the past 2-3 seasons who make them an automatic promotion challenger. I expect them to win the league if them two players click with Dike upfront.

Norwich - Got pukki. Hes absolute key as a proven goal machine in this league. Got decent fullbacks for this level and a few midfielders(cantwell, rashica, sinani) who can supply pukki with goals. Expect them to be up there.

Boro - Best manager in the league for me in wilder. Just sold tavernier which will hurt them but they should replace him with the funds they receive. I expect boro to be in the play offs, they could get top 2 IF they sign a striker. They seriously need a man up top and don't think forss or watmore can supply the goals. The two fullbacks are brilliant and loads of experience in the side, good defence and keeper for this level.

Teams to go down;

Birmingham - Biggest certainty in years to go down this. Anything around evens in the bookies should be taken. Crap these, in a mess.

Huddersfield - Playoff final last season. Lost the manager and most of their better players. Going to struggle and an outsider to go down.

Rotherham - Yoyo side. Think Wigan and Sunderland have enough going forward to stay up above these. Ok defensively but going to struggle to score goals.

Players to watch;

Isaiah Jones - Boro - Fullback - Hes class. Expect him to be the new Djed Spence of this league. Not built physically the same however adds the attacking threat of Spence. Big prospect.

Flemming - Millwall - Attacking mid - Signed from the dutch league in the summer. Could smash this league but could also stink the gaff out, looked good in pre season. He replaced Jed Wallace and the millwall fans think he could be better.

Ndiaye - Sheff Utd - Attacking Mid/striker - Young Senegalese player who came from nowhere last year and added goals to the side. With MGW gone, he could take the mantle and create and score the goals needed for sheff united to challenge for promotion.

Alex Scott - Bristol City - 18 year old English midfielder. 4 goals and 2 assists in a bang average city side last season. Just ran the show for England U19s in the summer. Surprised a premier league club haven't tried to snap him up before his value goes through the roof.

If anyone is interested in playing championship fantasy football. Join on www.gaffr.io its brilliant and much more fun than FPL etc.
Great topic, West Brom my team, can't see us winning it, maybe 7th or 8th.
