This was kendalls best achievement in my eyes. Injuries to the likes of Southall Stevens Reid and Sharp meant we were playing catch up for most of the season. Don't think Bracewell played a single game. We were unstoppable at the end of the season though and it seemed we would dominate for years. It seems very strange that Kendall left us when he did

Always remember Paul power scoring against his old team man city and didn't celebrate,
Then he scored again in next game and went mental
He was a great signing for us a solid team player
Liked the bit in the video were someone said that Kendall gave him loads saying 'You're playing for Everton now, you celebrate when you score.''

Winning the league and not being able to compete in Europes top competition must have been a bitter pill to swallow for both Kendall and the players. It's no shock they moved on despite our success. We'll never know what could have been.

Thats one part I dont understand though,we were the only team that were affected that way,no other top team at the
time seemed to lose such a large part of their squad

How good were we back then, I'd almost forgotten some of those performances and the feelings they evoked.
What wouldn't we all give to experience that kind of elation again ?

Howard, as much as I love him, has to take some of the blame. If not most of it. He basically walked out on us over the summer, for Bilbao, ffs.

Mystifying decision, for a fella who still declares himself an Evertonian, considering he quit as a title-winning Everton manager to take over a mid-table Spanish team.

He could have kept that team/squad together, but he never.

They just knew how to win them boys... Remarkable how many close games they won. Injuries didn't make them miss a beat.

Some day again please

Watched that with my dad this weekend just gone. Bought back some great memories. We were at Carrow Road to watch us win the league, didn't think then we'd still be waiting to see it again :-/

That year was kind of a bigger achievement than 1985 when you look at the players, and the number of players we used. There were some terrible injuries and a lot of players who are anything but household names made really valuable contributions.
