If you're bringing the bairns, as I guess most would, then the old wallet can take a pummelling - shelling out tenners left right and centre for any activity bar swimming. If you're braced for that then it's OK. If you book it and think that's it, stuff to do will be laid on for the kids, then you're going to get wound up. £200 lighter over a weekend for no discernible reason.

I know quite a few who go each year and really enjoy it. They seem to plan stuff quite carefully in terms of bringing food and ale with them etc.

Hes only 8 months old mate so theres not much he can do hahahaha

Center Parcs was really quite boss Del. Depends what your going there for like, but I spent about £90 on food a drink before we went and only had one meal out, the indian, which was nice and only cost £60 for the two of us. That was about all I spent. With havin the little'un like me you'll not be out drinking all night, and at £3.80 for a John Smith, £3.90 for a Fosters and £4.75 a cider, even without the little'un you'll not be out all night drinking. Take your own food/drink and you'll be sound. We mostly just walked around through the day and stopped at any one of the three Starbucks, which are standard franchise prices. Swimming was sound, geared well towards the youngsters, and is something that will keep them occupied for hours each day. It's right that literally ANYTHING extra that you want to do, will cost, but I just enjoyed the time out walking with Tom and the missus to be honest, I rarely get to spend the day with him cause of work, never mind the week. If your into your wildlife photography or anything, you should be sound aswell. I set up an area right out the back on the patio, with a bird feeder and makeshift Squirrel feeder and was able to sit with Tom and Pheasants, Ducks, Birds and Squirells were all running around at his feet. He enjoyed it and so did I. He's only four months old like.....

Anyway, if you are expecting a nice relaxing few days away from the rat race, away from your phone and computer, I recommend it highly. If your looking for an all action week, non-stop activities. I recommend you apply for a credit card.

Del - as above it is perfectly described. We've been to the one in the Lakes, the one near Nottingham but prefer Elveden in Suffolk. Unless you prepare well in advance it is seriously expensive but at the same time you get what you pay for. Prices are up relative to your standard place but it's generally done really well and everyone is relaxed. We go every Spring and Autumn half-term and have never yet so much as come across a raised voice let alone anything more. So you can relax and just have really good family time.
