I am a firm supporter of Celtic, now living in Glasgow and attending some matches. Both of the Old Firm believe they have a special affinity with the Sh*te, but I always though we were mates with Celtic.

Why do Old Firm fans think that fans of other teams will automatically pick one over the other?

Bristol City or Bristol Rovers? Which do you prefer?

I always thought we had an affinity with Bristol Rovers, but my mate says that they are actually staunch redcoats, and that we once had a load of Jamaicans play for us in the 1950's, so we are all clearly Jamiacan sympathisers.

Celtic, albeit with a bit of luck, made the last 16 of the CL.

When Celtic came to Anfield in 1966 in the Cup Winners Cup there was a lot of trouble. Likewise when Rangers came to Goodison there was a lot of trouble.

I agree that the sectarianism is absolute wank, but politically, Celtic are a traditional socialist club, and they're important in the modern game.
