That's going to get a bit graphic for me

Interesting

If they can pull it off successfully, then maybe it'll gain traction?

Will be interesting to see the LFC reaction to this, seeing as they've always got on with Celtic and Celtic invited them up for a match not soon after Hilsborough

Would love to see this at Spurs. I think the powers that be might try & get one into our new stadium. Fingers crossed.

Do I understand that it's ticketed in the same way as seating? ie you pay for effectively a 0.5 sq m of space rather than a seat?

I think you do technically still get a 'seat', it's just that in the standing area they are folded back up and you have a rail in front of you to stop any surge forwards etc. I think they have done it like this so the standing area can instantly be converted back into seating for UEFA games where standing is still not permitted

If the entire ground was standing then I think that'd be unwise. However now that the fences are no longer in existence, I can't see anything wrong with having a couple of rows at the front of each ground level stand as unreserved standing, up to a predetermined capacity, with a separate entrance partition and effective stewarding so as no unauthorised folk can enter and swell numbers.

I understand the apprehension of folk directly affected by Hillsborough though.

Reserved standing like in the Bundersleague I have no problem with.

Unreserved standing is a no no. Many clubs have idiots even our own. I've seen them with my own eyes.

It will encourage bad behaviour.

Reserved standing areas are the way forward.

Yes, I would like to see it at Goodison Park. I know some feel that because of what happened at Hillsborough it would be inappropriate or insensitive. I'd look at it from another angle; this is called 'safe standing' because what has happened at several football tragedies has directly influenced the design and would surely be safer than the daft situation that we see at grounds all over the country where supporters stand in front of seats that they have paid to sit on.

As for Goodison Park as it is at the moment, partial or full reconversion of the Lower Gwladys would help the atmosphere. Would it boost capacity a little too?
