They were sponsoring everything under the sun at one point. Completely unsustainable looking back.

I actually used their service shortly after they started sponsoring us and I thought it was great. I looked again at their site several years later when it was time for a change and could tell immediately that their service was dramatically worse and figured they must have been struggling.
Exactly the same, great experience buying my current car from them 3 and a bit years ago during covid. Very fair price as well.

The business model went wrong when they started buying traditional garages and messed up their USP, Cinch have been the winners by the looks of it.

I heard similar from a mate who sells and buys cars.

They were paying top dollar for cars at that time, way over what a dealer would pay for them.

He couldn’t work out how they were making a profit and thought it must’ve been some kind of tax scam.
They were simply burning through investor cash. They managed to spunk nearly £1.5billion in just a few years.

Gravy train crashed and everyone gets off.

Flogged my car to them a couple of years ago, could’t believe how easy it was, how much they valued it at and how little scrutiny they gave the car when I dropped it of (at night in a relatively unlit forecourt)
Oddly enough the physical location they had was recently taken on by Fisker who are also in a bit of bother now - the site is cursed I tell thee.
