Cars - We need a new model

Carsley has been agreat servant to the cause. has anyone ever seen him mouthing off against the club, well not yet. However we are moving on and perhaps Carsley is near the end of his Everton career but give him some due for the work put in.

TBH never the most skilful but a good worker and has never shirked. It hurts me to say it but we need a Gerrard like player and that did hurt!!:(

I know Carsley has been a great servant, and against lesser sides he is at home. However, against the bigger teams with the classier midfielders he is left wanting. He is getting on, so a replacement for Carsley is absolutely essential. He was at fault for their first goal and left SWP to wander freely. He did the same in the second half.

In comparison, Mikel up until his harsh red card was patrolling his back 4 much more effectively.

If we are to compete with these type of teams, it doesn't matter if we have Arteta and Pienaar in the side. We need a general, someone who is quick, can tackle, and can pass. For me Cars is very much like Jags, just gets a boot in, but little panache, little thought. Experience is no substitute for pure talent, which he doesn't have.

Must be priority in the summer.

I thought that Adelbada was a direct replacement? Where did that rumour go?!

guys look we are moving from a pure workhorse to one of class, flair, skill and speed. Carsley is nothing but a workhorse, he hasnt got the skill and class we need, and sometimes we need to take stock of the situation, and consider what is better for the club. For us to compete at the highest level, one must also consider the fact we need an abundance of skill, and abundance of flair and class, and abundance of speed, someone who can look after the midfield, and help stop balls coming straight down the middle. Unfortunately Cars has passed his sell by date, and was a very good servant to the club. He isnt the man to be bossing the midfield anymore.

What we need is a midfield dynamo who can control things, and once we have that sorted out, most if not all of our problems right now will go away. Whether Manny is the man to do that I dont know, but right now as long as he can show some commitment I would give him a try, but he needs to play for the whole 90 mins not 15 or 20 mins...and if it isnt Manny who should get the role, it needs to be that other guy from valencia albeda or whatever his name is, he is meant to excel in that position, but my concern with him, is he older than cars..but for now, id take him and pop in to that position maybe, and have manny somewhere else in midfield...with arteta and piennar down the wings perhaps with manny and cahill down the middle..with Yaks and Anichebe/aj up front ...what a team lol

A couple of things mate. Its not Footie Manager so its not as easy to find that dynamo during the transfer window. I dont think we should be writing Carsley off too soon either, his return coincided with our turning point and run of good form. Maybe he's been a bit below par in the last game or two but we are vunerable as [Poor language removed] without him protecting the defence.

And Fernandes is not a holding midfielder, he hasnt got the work rate. But youre right, we will need a replacement for Carsley but Im sure Moyes is looking.

What the [Poor language removed] am I doing talking footie anyway.
