He's still a scruffy, whingeing c**t - and his biography remarks shouldn't be forgotten - but you can't fault this:

"But neither his desire nor his obvious partisanship have blinded Carragher to the progress that has been made on the other side of Stanley Park since David Moyes took the helm at Goodison and he insists he is not in the least bit taken aback by the fact that Everton are again challenging for a European place. "It's no surprise because Everton have been on the up over the last three or four seasons under David Moyes," he said."They are always the type of team that whenever you play them you always know that you are going to be in a game."I think, without being disrespectful to them in any way, they are probably a team that has punched above its weight as much as anyone in the league over the last four or five years.
"A lot of teams spend a bit more money than them but they are always there challenging the top four teams.
"A few teams have said they would and spent a few quid but I think Everton have been the team most likely to put a dent in that top four."

The RS are punching above their weight after decades of trying to have a go for the title. Its only because Chelski have a new manager and are in a mode of change, and Arsenal sold alot of good players/have key players injured, that the [Poor language removed] are in contention.

They're shitting a brick now because Manure are right on them without hitting any real form.

Subtext: I know I'm in line to be replaced if Rafael gets the go ahead to chin Parry and take full control of transfers but me bird doesn't fancy living in London or Newcastle and I don't feel Wigan is right for me at this stage in my career.

That was similar to my interpretation..."I want to live on merseyside with the rest of my family after I stop playing, and the chances a numpty like me will get a crack at coaching are so remote that im now looking to just settle down and keep out of the way of all the people i have scorned over the years"
