It's only football,( a testimonial at that !) Christ almighty YOU all need to have a word with yourselves, do you even know where the proceeds of this are going?

You are all banging on about it being cringeworthy about the Gerrard chants et al. This cringeworthy 5 page thread about some couple of paragraphs in his book is even worse!

What i can't understand is why you are so personally affected by these comments? You, i - are collectively Everton - so the blame for these ridiculous chants lay on our shoulders. I cringe more when people cut their noses off to spite their faces though. I know he has been a bit of a beaut in the past, but he is more one of ' us' than one of them ( i've listeed in previous posts my reasons why ) i'm not going share a pint with the lad, but he
has more balls, and a bit more integrity than most players. I don't know him personally, but he chose Everton as the team he'd like to celebrate his testimonial with - why? out of respect? out of spite? who knows - what i do know its certainly testament that to celebrate his time at Liverpool, he wants to showcase it against us.

I'm going to to this game, and i've made a donation to his charity. So what?

O my god, it's just a laugh lighten up! We sing our COYB songs as well, no harm in having a bit of a laugh at St.Steven. Every single football fanbase in England sing humerous songs every now and then. Whats wrong with it?

That chant isn't a laugh and some of us don't find it humerous. Im embarrassed for the ones that sing it.
