Apparently we are interested in Valencia's 30 years old CB Carlos Marchena. Very good CB IMO, and for 3 Mill would allow us to offload Distin or Yobo (who I still rate). So we could use the money to sign a playmaker or a winger.

Also I'm just saying the rumor is out there, not that it is a done deal or that it has legs. Im just throwing it out just to let you know about the rumor.

As for the money I think if we sign Marchena for 3 Mill and sell Yobo for 5-7 Mill thats a small profit bu a profit non the less to sign someone. I would like to think we have atleast 8 Mill to spend in addition to the 2-4 Mill we could get if we sell Yobo. And if we sell other players like Vaughan and Jukbox we could get a cuople of Mill for them so we could have a total of 15 Mill (8 we had + 4 mill of Yobo + 3 mill from Vaughan and Jukbox) to spend in a best case scenario. And we could definitely get a very good player with 15 mill ( Moutinho, Banega, Ben-Arfa, Donovan)

Obviously not all of them are valued at 15 Mill (some of them might be valued closer to 10 Mill) but just saying we could get atleast one of those players with that kind of money

Yes but you got to weight the options. Jags and Heit will probably be the starting CBs, Yobo would be on the bench and so would Marchena. A CB group of Jags, Heit, Distin and Marchena still looks very good and experience. And by selling Yobo so could get a little bit more money to strengthen other positions like the wings or a playmaker.
