2019/20 Carlo Ancelotti

Anyone blaming Ancelotti at this point should really have a word with themselves.

He's been here exactly 1 month today. He took over an absolute mess of a squad that was hobbled together over the previous 3-4 years, with 4 failed managers and 2 directors of football, has barely had any time to work with the players, maybe 2 full weeks of training. He has injuries to several key players and we've played 7 games 26 days, which is a game less than every 4 days.

Today, we absolutely dominated that game, and looked to be closing it out professionally. He could not legislate for that horror show that came after, and he will be as angry as anyone else.

The last thing we need at the moment is to start the anti-Carlo brigade. This is an intelligent man, with loyalty and integrity, a man who has been successful everywhere he has been. And he could be the best thing to happen to this club in a long, long time. But he needs time and support.

If you want to blame anyone tonight, you blame the players who couldn't hold on for 2 minutes. More precisely, the idiot goalkeeper whos tiny brain and massive ego won't allow him to control his temperament and close out a game the opposition were never in.

Im as angry and as bewildered as anyone after what i saw tonight, but anyone who is pointing that anger at the manager is just bang out of order.

Superb.

I hope we sack him and replace him with Eddie Howe so we can rightfully be relegated whilst big red clean up

then we can truly wallow in our self loathing misery

I'd honestly just liquidate the club now.

Give all the money to EITC. Bin it all off. Let the homeless sleep at Goodison.

Do it in the next few weeks so Liverpool can't win the league there too.

Not worth it.

Comfortably the best weve played in a long time that, aside from the last 5 or so minutes.

I think he should've brought Keane on for either Walcott or Bernard. Or even Niasse because he came on and just did nothing again. But hey ho he works dead hard doesn't he , or so I'm told.

The players are to blame there, in particular the flapper from the north east between the sticks.

The good thing is he wont panic

We played well for 94mins, dominated possession, battled, won the second balls and created good chances

Hes experienced enough to know what to do over the next 10 days to tweak things, in reality he doesnt need to change much

Well said. Anyone who saw that knows it was down to player mentality. People can point at the subs, but the players on the pitch should be able to see out the last 2 minutes of a game.

Today was probably the best performance of the season for 92 minutes, at which point the players threw it away.

99% of fans know Carlo will vastly improve us given time.

Liverpool have won the league long before they play us. Let’s not make a draw the end of the club aye ffs I HATE some of our fans I really really do

Arrived home still in shock. If the Ancelotti apologies for the totally unnecessary subs which were down to his bad judgement by completely altering the flow of a won game from us to the incompetent and frankly hopeless Newcastle team and no one else. Write the game off and we move on. He nearly did it against Brighton. It was embarrassing walking through mocking Geordies after the game. A lot of the gloss has dropped off this fella. You would hard put to find any fan in the ground would have made the changes he made at the time he made them. Any previous manager would have been slaughtered for this debacle.

People do realise that dragging a forward off for a defender would 100% invite pressure on to us

He made those subs because we where and had dominated, it wasn't like they had come into the game in the last 15 and he needed to tighten it up, they'd done nothing

So was it Davies on 82 mins or Niasse on 90 that cost us?

one thing if we still had silva instead of him i honestly think we would be in a relegation scrap that i would have no faith in winning.
needs a player or two to freshen up the squad for the run in.
