Been a few times to watch them play York. It really is a cracking little ground, dead easy to get to and easy parking. Carlisle town centre itself is an absolute toilet and is best avoided.

Will be visiting York/Bootham Crescent on the 27th of February;)

Went to York's ground last year to watch Bradford go out on penalties in the league cup.
Incredibly basic ground, standing terraces, toilet was essentially a tiled wall round a corner but was fantastic!
Right little time machine of a ground and a lovely city to visit with or without footie.
Pints beforehand down by the river were the highlight :pint2:

Back on topic, sorry, Carlisle.
Proximity to me and majority of blues. If I get chance to go could get the train which is a boss journey through the yorks dales with viaducts and stuff.

Have you been to York before ?

If you are going by car the parking is a total nightmare.

If you need any places to eat or drink let me know x
First time mate. Coming by train from Liverpool. Will arrive a few hours before kick off, so will probably be looking for a pub before going to the match. Most likely straigth back to Liverpool after the match and go to a restaurant there. But if there's something you highly recommend me, I'll be willing to take up that advice.:):)

First stop for a pint is the revamped Victorian waiting room - The York Tap, attached to the side of the main entrance / exit of the station.

Next is - The Maltings. It's about 200 yards from the station, to the right of the first bridge you have to walk over. ( one of Yorks best pubs with an incredible selection of beers )

From there I'd head onto the road that the ground is just off - its simply called " Bootham ".

There's three pubs on Bootham - The White Horse, The Bootham Tavern and the Exhibition.

My choice would be - The White Horse, proper pre match pub. ( The Exhibition is a bit touristy and the Bootham Tavern is a bit full on Leeds United !

As @Yorkie says the ground is like a throw back from an other era, but a great little place. It'll be a real shame when they move to the new ground at an out of town shopping centre in the near future.

Thanks for the info mate. That's one of the reasons we chose to pay a visit to York City ahead of other options. Prefer an older stadium over the new ones.
