So glad this has been made! The trash talking has already started on SSN.

Really split on who will win this, but think Froch might come on strong in the end and edge it again.
What does everyone else think?

I never gave Groves a prayer in the first fight, but he made me eat my words, as he was outstanding & unfortunate to lose.

I'm amazed that Froch has taken the fight tbh, as I can't see what it gains him barring the purse & on the evidence of the first fight Groves will take him.

I agree, can't believe Froch has taken the fight. Makes me think that he really fancies his chances to beat Groves again.

He got lucky, VERY lucky, last time out & now Groves knows he's got the ability & power to really hurt Froch, that can only surely add to his confidence level. I think I'll be backing Groves heavily to take him tbh.

Froch was never going to NOT take the fight. If we know one thing about Froch, he's not a bottler.

IMO Froch will beat Groves this time round. But Groves will definately hold all of Frochs belts, and maybe more, at some point in his career, its just about who he beats to get them.

Groves was saved by the referee, Froch actually would of knocked him out with the next swing, of that I have no doubt, he was unguarded and ripe for the picking. The ref should've let it go though, he should've of let a full conclusion come to the fight.

What people forget is that these refs are profesionals,. there are very few situations that happen in a ring that they are not accustomed t, or experienced before. The ref could see what was coming, and a hell of a lot clearer than Groves could.

The telling thing for me, was that Groves knocked Froch down right at the beginning, when he had all the power in his arms. Froch got up fro that and caused Groves damage when the punches were slowing down. Froch has/had more heart than Groves, though I was hugely impressed by Groves.

Froch made a bit of a bulb of himself in the interviews during the weeks after though.

Watching the post fight interviews I never thought Froch would have gone for the rematch, he kind of half heartedly agreed but never felt it was gonna happen.

Glad it is though as I enjoyed the first fight and I think Froch will knock him out second time round.

I completely agree. I fancied Groves for the first fight, but couldn't believe how much he battered Froch about the ring at times. In saying that, just before the ridiculous stoppage, I thought Groves was tiring a little and that might play into Froch's hands (mind the pun) if the same thing happens again. I think he was just a bit naive and tried to finish Froch too quickly and gassed himself out.

Hopefully George wins though.

Don't really agree mate, I think if anything Groves was a little bit lucky, he was on his way to stopping Groves, and the early stoppage has enhanced Groves reputation. Regards Froch taking the fight, I said on the boxing thread he was always going to have to, he doesn't have any other options, Ward wont come to the UK and the fight isn't a big seller in US, Chavez is all tied up at the minute with other comittments, and GGG hasn't confirmed he's moving up to super middle, and even if he does that is a poor risk-reward fight at this stage of Froch's career, throw in the IBF decision and this had to happen.

I thought this too, but I think Froch's hand was forced to some extent. Supposedly an agreement had basically been made for him to fight Chavez Jr, that was until the IBF called for the Groves rematch. Avoiding a fight with George after that decision would mean vacating the title, something that wouldn't look great with his 'Warrior' image in the eyes of the public/media.

I think he's confident he can beat George, but I don't think he would have fought him unless pushed by the IBF.

Chavez is already tied up to fight brian vera in march, a shame because I would love to see the overrated whopper take a beating. This fight was always going to happen, I find it quite funny groves going to the ibf means he has ruined his big pay day somewhat

Is it still 85-15? I thought I read somewhere that they agreed to split the purse?

If it's 85-15 then that is hilarious.
