Player Valuation: £50m
Just watching the Football League Show.

Cardiff playing in their new red colour shirts in their stadium which is all blue seats. How did the owners get away with that? One of the worst examples of abuse of money in the modern game.

If they get promoted, do you think the fans will be ar*ed ??

100 years of wearing blue? They should be aršed now.

It just looks so plastic on the tv, like some sort of weird near future vision in a sci fi film.

Would you be happy to see Everton win the league if it meant changed their home colours?

I would ask the Welsh lads on here myself. I always associate Wales with Red ? They kept the Bluebird on the club crest. Cardiff nearly went bust a few years back.. so if, in that situation, a total overhall was called for, and someone said " listen, we can go out of business, or we can wear red, and get promoted to the Premier League and play the mighty Swansea !.. Then Im not sure many would say, [Poor language removed] that.. go bust !

I was never allowed to wear red as a kid.. I dont let my kids wear red ( as a rule ) I used to have to hold my breath as we drove past Anfield..
I do however have a picture on my wall of past Everton kits.. and as we now associate ourselves with blue.. their have been a few different colours over the years..

If you count away kits mate there is. But we've been royal blue for over 100 years.

I'd go f*cking nuts if someone came in and tried to change that.

That is not all home kits though. We wore red when we played at Anfield. We have used blue as a home kit for over 100 years. Would Evertonians be happy to change the kit to red, green, yellow if a rich investor thought it was in his commercial interests for us to do so?

Just because Wales is associated with red surely means nothing to Swansea City home team colours.

The fact the club were going bust just highlights how money was used in an underhand way.

Cardiff fans are the kopites of wales so i would pay no attention. They ripped up the seats in the liberty on their first visit for no other reason than because they are all bellends, i wouldn't say poor cardiff.

I think the 1880 Blackwatch kit is mega though !

Dont get me wrong here, I love Blue ffs.. its all up to personal opinions, Im sure many Cardiff fans didnt want to move grounds either ? They changed their kit colour to get money.. we sell our best players.. Its all up to personal interpretation !

As we all probably due, I know a couple of them like and they're raging. It's a sell out. There would be pure anarchy if someone tried to do that to Everton.

The blackwatch kit is superb, should be an away more often. Salmon, not red though.

Hmmm, selling a player is part and parcel of the game. As is shirt sponsorship and sadly even stadium naming rights.

But selling the colour of your shirt? It's beyond the pale.

We, as a club, dont hammer our history home enough.. Yeah we sing about it.. but no-one outside of the City knows our real heritage ( I bet some on here dont to be fair.. )

Abuse of money then. So sad to see.

Not really.

They've come in and bought a club that was making no money, and are making what they think are the right business moves to start making money. The reality is that since they've changed to the red home strip there has not been a noticeable drop in attendances and the Cardiff supporters i know still go to the game, they just buy the away strip which is the same blue as the home kit has always been.

Changing the kit is extreme but it's hardly 'abuse' of money, they rescued the club and can do what they please with it within reason. It's not like they've changed the name to FC Welsh Dragon Stars.

And the Everton argument doesn't really stand up, because the kit colour has a much deeper history which goes hand in hand with the rivalry with Liverpool. A lot of Cardiff fans were in favour of the change if it increased the profitability of the club and meant it could survive in the long term.
