to much tax aready in this country so no from me, and the can shove global warming up there crack as well thats just another load of bull to tax you more on stuff

I'm surprised that alot of people think we have no impact on the planet at all. Ask anyone who's seen the Earth from Space, as you do, and they'll tell you, there are no great wildernesses left, other than Antarctica. 8 billion people have left an indelible footprint on the Planet. Sure, it'll all change back when we get wiped out, and the Earth goes through weather cycles affected by the Sun, but on the whole, were bumming the Earth, man. Global Cooling then? Who knows.

We have a carbon tax over here - stealth tax really, just ramps up prices really heating, electricity, fuel its a money making racket slanted with a positive agenda. Gives Governments the oppurtunity to keep income tax and social insurance rates low - while taxing somewhere else.

It's supposed to slug Industry to clean up their act. People are worried because they have no frame-work, no idea how much carbon is worth at a $ value.

They don't need to at the moment. Supply and Demand such as it is.

They're about to shaft you over there aren't they Macca? Didn't Gillard promise not to introduce carbon taxes in her election bid, but is now pushing them through? A lot of people upset by it, apparently Labour now down to 30% approval rating, coallition 55% or something.

She never said we wouldn't cop one, it's just that people have no idea how it will affect them. The Government wanted to bring people into it and ask them for their opinions, but forgot the details. People are now pissed because they don't have details, just the fact they will get slugged with a new tax. When will the Government learn you treat these idiots like mushrooms.

with reductions for things that are energy efficient/green, like insulation and solar panels and stuff ?

Yeah. There are incentive rebate schemes for installing things like solar panels and they did have the insulation scheme which royally ****ed up. You see, when make available alot of money to bring these things in, you are invariably going to attract the 'Shonk' builder who will find any loophole he can make money on it. People died. The minister responsible got a big slap on the hand, and sent to an easier portfolio.

Who cares? By the time the planet turns into a giant fireball and eats itself we'll be long dead.
